Just wanted to say Hello or "Howdy ya'll".
Found this site after 'googling' for error code PO304 "cylinder 4 misfire"on my '01 F-150.
Have had some advanced warning about the difficulties with the spark plug replacement, and the chance of blow-out.
Well, after reading a ton on this site about this issue, I'm going to replace mine tomorrow (preferable in the a.m, with Houston area weather being in the cool 90's at 7 a.m. I think that's wise)
Just wanted to give a thanks to those who have completed this project and have relayed their progress and pointers on this forum.
I'll post up my headache or cake walk of completing this procedure.
Thanks,
Paddy

Well, it's been over a week since I completed replacing my spark plugs.
#1,2,3,5,6,8 plugs a breeze to replace.
#7 had to remove fuel rail to get to bolt for coil pack (lost o-ring to fuel jet, got replacement at AutoZone)
#4 Took me 10 hours (sprayed wd-40 and let sit overnight) to replace, for the life of me I couldn't get spark plug socket to sit completely over plug. I had to remove hood to get enough of an angle and down-ward pressure to get the blasted thing out. I used a two sockets (one with and one without a rubber boot).
Overall was very proud of myself....That is until approx. 7:45 am Monday (7/27/09) driving up to I-10, #7 decided to expel it's self out of head.
HOORAH! I have now joined the exclusive club of F-150 owners to blow a plug from their engine.
Well is it:
Time-Sert
Helix Coil
Lock-n-Stitch
Recoil
