FabTech Traction Bars

I purchased a set of Fabtech traction bars because I have been having a few issues with the wheels locking up. Couple of engine mods done and all well..... I have been having such a hard time with noises. I get clunks while comming to a stop right before the trucj gets to a compleat stop and when making turns sometimes. I have been through it 50 times torque wrench torquing to spec as pre Fab Tech. I thought maybe they were loose or something or not even in length as they are very adjustable. But just cant spend the time messing with them anymore and hearing these noises like something is going to come up through the floor. Took the bars off and everything drives great to its the bars. Anyone that has experience with these bars and or this problem any help is appreciated.

Ryan

Do any of the brackets have marks made when they may have contacted another part?

Not that I was able to see. I have been looking at everything, I am a heavy diesel engine mechanic by trade, ships, yachts so I think I am mechanical and this problem keeps throwing me in a loop.

From: Fort. Lauderdale FL,
Thanks I would have appreciated it, Its so hard to figure stuff out sometimes from in the cab I can only hang my head out so much. Tried sitting in the bed hanging over with the wife driving but that didnt work out either. Just a whole lot of shouting turn, break, gas. But ehh took the bars off drives great now just wish i could have them on and still drive great.

thanks though

You need the real world experience to solve it. Get or make some chock blocks and put them in front and back of the rear wheels (4 blocks), then have your trusting wife give it a little gas in drive and reverse while you are lying next to the rear wheel (not behind it) and observe and hear what is going on. You might be able to rent those blocks. Your emergency brakes might be enough to make it work.
