Steering Gearbox Leak
I've got a terrible leak somewhere in my power steering system. I have a new pump, new lines, and it is still leaking an entire tank full of fluid per day. The only thing left is the gearbox. I was wondering if there are normal places that these things leak from that I could check, or if I am likely to have to replace the whole thing.

The Pitman arm shaft seal is very comon to go out. Also the steering gear seal where the shaft comes in and connects to the Rag Joint is also comon to leak there.
If your box is worn out, I'd get a new one. If it's in operational condition, you can replace the seals.
According to my sources at the wreckers, 1980-1996 F-series use the same one for power steering.
