whenever i use a lite touch on the throttle pedal i get a very bad shuddering. When i let off on the gas and reapply the gas it either does not do this again or it will repeat after a few seconds.
Now this was a slight problem at one time and i had the tranny flushed with that new system that is at the ford dealer and that seemed to do the trick (for a While) after about 4,000 miles, It's back to doing it worse. Now what i would like to know is if i need to re-flush this transmission again and again every 3000 mile or if there is a fix. I read in some truck mag. addvertisement"stop transmission shuddering, add high presure "thing-a-ma-bob" and stop this". has anybody herd of this. any help would be helpfull. I've been very happy with this truck as it is an 1990 F350 with 157,000 miles of trouble free driving up untill this time. Maybe its time for a tranny rebuild. except for this problem the transmissin operates under all other driving conditions,ie... shifting, accelerating, forward and reverse conditions. thanks for any help.
I had a similar problem a few years ago with a Chevy Blazer with a 350cid. It was found that the flywheel was cracked. Fortunately it was covered under the warrantee.
It could be the torque converter. Ford has at least two "updates" on the E4s tc. I would say, though, that with that many miles it could be time to have a tranny shop look at it.
Check the (TCC switch) and the torque converter. The tcc switch is what locks and unlocks the torque converter. That is what happened to our 92 ford bronco 129,000 miles. Also with such miles it would be a good idea to have it looked at and possibly rebuilt.
Try re-torqueing the valve body to transmission bolts, it worked for my father's auto overdrive in a '95 F150 I know it's not the same tranny but it might save you a BUNCH of $$$$$$. I hope this helps in any way.
