im 16 and still learning bout the old ford trucks....i know alot bout em just the height is getting to me....i need to know how high i can make it so its still legal to run on the road....i read somewhere that in pa ur back bumper has to be 30 inches from the road....i wanna know if i put 4'' suspension and a 3 inch body lift on if it would still be legal....and tires im thinkin 33s or 35s any help on this please?
lol well see with the money and time i got i dont have alot to do here lol i just wanna make my 77 street legal its my first truck/car and i wanna make it road legal for a daily driver ya kno lol
I'm in pa too, yes 30" is the rule for front and back. It is measured at the bottom of the main structural cross bar- meaning you cant count bumper gaurds, drop hitches, or the like. (fyi: if its lowered you can measure from the top of the bumper which is either 16" or 17" I forget). Don't know what my exact mesurments were at the time, but my 78 F-150 4x4 had a 6" suspension lift, and 35" tires and was still plenty legal. If you have a F-250 or higher chances are it sits higher than mine though. I did not see what yours is. I hear federal standards go off of the headlight height, but I don't know the details on that. Good luck with the truck, its gotta be a fun high school ride!
