Does anyone know where I can find the size of the bolts for the water pump pulley and the crankshaft pulley? I need new ones but I don't know the thread size or the length. I also need an alternator spacer and I'm having trouble finding one of those. Last question - Is there a spacer on the power steering pump where the pump meets the block? I seem to have about 1/2" of extra space here. The truck is a 1978 with a 302.
For every question the answer is yes. Since there were a few different belt configurations you may have to snap a few pics to bring us up to speed. Performace places such as Jegs (an FTE sponsor) will have the balancer bolt, or you may find one from the salvage yard. You will have to remove it yourself, but if you find a fairly complete engine you can remove all of the parts that you need. This will also give you a chnace to see how thae spacer configuration is.
You can get bolts and all kinds of other must have stuff here. www.mcmaster.com I'd recommend picking up some thread pitch gauges (Std & metric) and maybe a decent caliper also. Both come in handy a lot.

D1AZ8A652A .. Spacer (Motorcraft YS30)
This is a round aluminum tube, 1" outside diameter, 4 13/16" long with a 7/16" hole thru the center for a bolt to pass thru...and with a cutout that runs the entire length.
Stand the puppy on end, it resembles the letter C. It was used as a spacer for the alternator and the P/S pump brackets.
It's still available from Ford, and it's cut to fit.
btw: There are no metric bolts used anywhere on these trucks. Not a one!
Ford didn't go metric until the mid 1980's, but the waterpump and crankshaft pulley bolts were never metric on any 302 engine.
I can list ALL the sizes, because I have the Ford truck parts catalog. (I wish more people on this site did, it would save them a lotta looking, and askin' questions).
But it's prolly easier for you to take the old bolts to a hardware or autoparts store and match them up.
Thanks for all the help guys! Unfortunately, I didn't take the engine apart, so I don't have the old bolts for the pulleys. Here are some pics of the engine that might help.
