My tranny seized and spat the driveshaft out the back of it and onto the ground, ford dealership wants $2800 to fix it with all new parts...I'm wondering what a good replacement rebuilt T-5 would cost me and would it bolt up? Or what other kind of tranny's would be good for me? 6 banger, 2.73 gears, 31" tires, mild mods (intake+exhaust+ignition) I reaaaaaallly can't afford $2800..he thinks $1000 if he can find warrenty'd used parts...but even then the M5OD is a POS to start off with, and isn't it the same tranny that comes in the stupid little rangers?!
The ZF should be a bolt up. Creeper 1st gear which would go nicely with your 2.73, OD 5th. Nearly unbreakable, used in F-250/350 w/ manual tranny. It's not going to be cheap, but it's not a Mazda either.
