carb fitment question

Hello,
I have acquired a Holley 4160 (list -80457-2). it was on a jeep with a chev 350.
should i just sell it and buy a Holley 4160 (list-1850) or is there a way to use the free one i have now? What do i need to make it work on my 70' F100 302 (automatic) it needs rebuilt but that's not a problem for me. I also know i need an intake.

Thank you for any help/advice in advance.

Jim

It should just go on, with the exception of the linkage and kickdown cables.
You'd probably have to put the ones that would fit your year model on that carb.

Hopefully someone else will chime in on this thread and give a more expert opinion. I've changed a few carbs in my time, but it was on the same car or truck I was working on. I never took one off another vehicle to put it on another. Iw ould think you would have to change out the linkage though. Good luck and let us know how it went.

I will keep ya updated but it will be awhile as I decided to rebuild a 351w to install vs pull my 302 and rebuild it. I am sure I will need to order linkage from Holley for a Ford to make it work.

Thank you,

Good choice on the 351 rebuild, although the 302 is a great motor. You really can't go wrong with either. Good luck with
