O kI am now ready to get the blocks from ebay I am going witht he autospring just am not sure if I want the 2.5" or the 3".. does anyone have any suggestions on which one i should put in? I already have a extra spring installed on the truck for weight carrying so i can get away with the 3" just not sure if it will cause any issues down the road, they both say that all is needed is a wheel alignment is this true? Hope to get some answers quickly... Thanks alot.
You are talking about the front right? If so I got the 3 inch and it works. Some people say they are scared cause of the CV shaft angle but I have seen pics of the 2.5 compared to mine and it dont look like that much of a difference. I got the add a leaf and thats why I went with the 3 inch. I would go with the 3 but some people will say other wise.
I though that AS made either a 2 or a 2.5? maybe your saying that the 2.5" spacer creates about 3" of lift. I put on the AS spacers that measure 2" in thickness and they look great with 1.5" blocks in the back. Not level, still raked forward a bit but not as much as stock. my front brake lines are pretty stretched at full suspension droop right now. I think I'd need to unclip them from the frame and move the bracket down if I ran a .5" larger spacer.
Hey still smoking, so i take it you have had no issues with the 3" blocks installed in the front? Brake lines and everything is ok? what size tire are you running I know you said 33" but what is the tire size.. Oh and lastly after you installed the blocks is it true that all you need is a alignment, and you cannot even tell it was installed? Thanks alot for the input..
Yup no issues with the 3". Some people complain about the cv shaft angle but it dont look like much of a difference compared to the 2.5". Never touched the brake lines or anything. Just took everything apart to put it in the back together the way it was. Im running 33/12.50/17. My next tires will be 35/12.50/17 when these wear out. Yes you will need an alignment. Just cause you have to take the ball joints and stuff apart to fit this in. You can see a little bit of the spacer if you look above the coil. Not much. Here is a pic of the cv shaft angle.
I used the 2" AS spacer and it raised the front to either level or slightly higher than the rear, enough so that I considered adding the 3" blocks to the rear, or possibly air bags. Put any load at all in the rear and your front end looks jacked up. Not my thing.
Ya I put the add a leaf in the back and added the 3". My front was still like 1/4 inch lower which I didnt think was to bad. I have put alot of weight in the back of the truck. I have had 4000 lbs of steel and it didnt jack the front end up alot. I was suprised.
