Excursion blowing starter fuse
I disconnected the small (activator) wire from the Fender mounted solenoid and used a fused jumper to activate and start the truck at least 20 times. It worked every time never popped the fuse. So it seems to me the problem is somewere in the dash, column or??? Im pulling my hair out! thankfully I still have enough before I get to thin.
If you can help me I would really appropriate it. Hopefully someone has had the same issue or a Ford Tech has seens and c an identify the problem.
Thank you in advance for your help
This is going to be tricky to find all you can do is play follow the wire.
When you crank power flows from fuse 20 down a White/Pink wire to the TRS (Transmission Range Sensor, AKA Neutral Safety Switch) through the TRS and along the Tan/Red wire to the starter relay on the fender anywhere alnog this route could have an intermittant short to ground, the White/Pink wire also loops back into the fuse board to fuse 21.
Here is a wiring diagram that may help you.

I think my first move would be to disconnect the Tan/Red wire from the starter relay, have some one turn the key to crank and then give all the wiring a wiggle to see if the fuse blows.
If the fuse doesn't blow then maybe it's the starter relay at fault, If the fuse blows at least you have eliminated the starter relay as the cause, I would then disconnect the TRS and once again wiggle all the wiring see if the fuse blows.
