cant roll it?

alright, i sent the chip out to be reburned and get a few more files burnt on, 10k free exhaust,dp,intake, hpx, fpr shim.
this hog will not roll it if its life depended on it, and since i shimmed the fpr ive seen a big reduction in smoke even with a high setting on in the chip. hammering it on the highway, clean as day, but the upped fuel pressure let this thing pull like a train on top. ive seen plenty stock 7.3 blow a little and chipped, its a cloud, on 140 smoke at idle i could get a plume and hammering it ont he highway just to see if she would id get a small cloud just from flooring it then it would clear up no matter how high the rpms, is this a really clean engine or is something weak?

Sounds pretty clean to me.

I have a 6637, 3.5" DP, 4" exhaust, FPR shim, and I use the ICP Resistance mod, too. Mine doesn't smoke at all and that's the way I like it. I'll get a little bit of smoke with the higher resistors, but not much. Black smoke pouring out the tailpipe is wasted fuel, IMHO.

If you're driving at the dragstrip and having fun, that's one thing, but black smoke when driving on the streets is wasting money.

If you want more black smoke, you need the ability to dump extra fuel into the engine.

What chip do you have? That will tell alot.
If you want smoke then you need more fuel. You need bigger injectors.

very true, but ive seen stock 7.3s smokewayyyy more than what mine does even with a chip, i have jim rollins chip over at PSN, or 3STAR.jr its a combo of beans,tw and php tunes, the motor is super strong and idles superbly with the chip, im basing off of what ive ehard about tw tunes with stock sticks that people can smoke out a street, dont get me wrong! im not trying to to be a typical young kid wanting to smoke out a guy for tail gating me, just when my buddy says roll it, id like a little to show for the money ive put into her! lol

I wish I could clean up the smoke I have down low in the RPM's! When I want it to I can roll a fair bit of black smoke though.

The most I've ever gotten was a little puff on the highway when some jerk pulled in front of me and slowed down to about 25mph... I had my torque converter locked so when it down shifted it hit kinda hard and I got a little smoke.

Other than that almost nothing.

What are your EGT's like with that 1.0 housing? Do you like it?

MustangMatt96GT, good one!!

Brown Falcon, That's a mixed bag of a question. I few years ago I thought it would be a good idea to use the 1". It gets you going a lot faster but I have found out its hurting me on the top end. TW burned me a good chip so when I'm in heavy tow mode pulling my 15K 5er or my 42' enclosed car hauler that weighted in at 22K once, it works great (heavy tow mode). In light tow mode I can bury my EGT gauge. The thing is though, when I find my stock housing and I have some time I'm going to put it back on and have Tony reburn my chip again. I hope this isn't to confusing of a answer.
