Buy the aerosol cans of wasp & hornet killer. The stuff shoots 30 feet and kills on contact. I keep several cans in the barn and a couple in the truck tool box. Never leave home without it.

How big of a nest/hive is there? 1st, have you found where they live? Once found wait until after dark when everyone is home (Yellow jackets) then spray the hell out of the nest with wasp spray. It kills them almost instantly. After the spraying, get the hell away as the survivors are not going to like you.

You may have to do this for a couple, three nights depending on the size of the swarm.

Good luck, OH, do not preform these tasks while wearing just a thong bathing suit, That will really drive them on a feeding frenzy.

This is actually my preferred attire while killing wasps.

I don't bother waiting since after you douse the nest, they won't return to it anymore. Then you can just use the can on the next nest when the survivors rebuild. Besides, if there are only a handful in the nest at a time, there's less chance you'll miss one and have to run screaming like a little girl.

It's gotta be a small nest. We were cleaning the loft out when we found it. There is just a couple pitchfork full of hay left. I was stanging almost on top of them stacking lumber but they stung my brother in law instead

If you want a little insurance get a few of the biggest smoke bombs you can find and light several of them at a time and put them up there wihile you spray it to keep them away from you, also lather the crap out of the hive as with the smoke they wont nessasarily realize its covered when the come back from the smoke and theyll all get into it. Ive been told the smell of the smoke and sulfur will mask the smell of the chemical to them so theyll get in it. just be careful of fires since its a hay loft. or make your own smoke canisters.

Brake Cleaner is the best bee killer I have found. Also works well on mice running around the shop. Me and our other mechanics can be found running around the shop dual wielding brake cleaner chasing mice sometimes! Good Times!

We've always used Cypermethrin (Demon EC). 1 oz per gallon will smoke them.

Brake cleaner works good.
WD-40.
Any sort of stuff like that.

At night time is best. Most come back to nest at night. Kill ratio will be higher.

I'd line about 3 people up with 12 gage shotguns and give it hell.
