02 ranger p1400 code

This code is for DPFE sensor low votage, so it says the system has detected a low output from the DPFE sensor.
A scantool that could access the DPFE ref & PID signal return voltage to the computer, would be helpful in your diagnosis.
Could be a bad sensor, OR some other things, like a faulty 5 volt reference to the sensor, shorted to ground ref voltage wire, or signal wire back to the computer, or faulty PCM.
So if you don't have a scantool that'll display PID's maybe check the condition of the wiring & the presents of the 5 volt ref at the DPFE's electrical connector with a high impedance multimeter, on the 20 volt DC scale.
If the wiring looks ok, the ref voltage is present at the DPFE's electrical connector, then maybe suspect the DPFE sensor, as it's a common problem part.
I like g_k50's idea too, so if it's bad, inquire of the Dealer if it's still under an emissions warranty, if so, make it Fords problem as he suggested!!!!
Some more trouble shooting thoughts for pondering, let us know what you find.
