I would say: do it. Those 6.9l's aren't record breakers, but are long lasting motors. Aren't too hard to work on. Sounds like a steal. I just bought an 1986 F250 XLT Lariat
4X4, ex-cab longbox, 6.9l IDI, C6, 4:10's, 33's on alum mags and a huge custom built cow pusher on front last week. Got it for $400. It's totally ready to go minus all new glow plugs and new u-joints. I think I got a great deal.
Thats a pretty good deal even if the motor turned out to be a turd. You could easily make your money back parting it out if you had too. I just saw a duplicate of that truck on our CL this morning, needs an igntion cylinder and the guy wants $2000.
the tires and rims are worth 275, scrapping it at the metal yard is more than 275. How is this a question? YES get the ****!!!
edit....that is my bi weekly allowance, i would so sacrifice beer and gas for that truck. And for the smart asses yeah i am married. I got over it, you do it too!!! LMAO!!!!
i am gone so often on deployments, it just works better that way! haha. Looking closer at the pics i would like to see about the horse trailer in the background, if the truck is so cheap......maybe!!!
