WOW! Talk about a "tobacco tax"

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire man says he swiped his debit card at a gas station to buy a pack of cigarettes and was charged over 23 quadrillion dollars.

Josh Muszynski (Moo-SIN'-ski) checked his account online a few hours later and saw the 17-digit number - a stunning $23,148,855,308,184,500 (twenty-three quadrillion, one hundred forty-eight trillion, eight hundred fifty-five billion, three hundred eight million, one hundred eighty-four thousand, five hundred dollars).

Muszynski says he spent two hours on the phone with Bank of America trying to sort out the string of numbers and the $15 overdraft fee.

The bank corrected the error the next day.

Bank of America tells WMUR-TV only the card issuer, Visa, could answer questions. Visa, in turn, referred questions to the bank.

Kinda makes that $15 overdraft fee seem a little silly.

I was just in Anchorage and my buddy paid $9 for ONE pack! That almost seems like a quadrillion dollars.

I wonder what kind of overdraft coverage he had? How did they even get the approval for that amount?

I'll pay $15 over draft fee if they let me go over my limit that much.

The news caster asked if they were going to disneyland, she said "hell i'am going to BUY disneyland". Thbe bank corrected her account.

Judging by the number, I'd say that's what happened here too. Thing is, now everyone knows his card number. They might want to change that ASAP.

$15 dollar overdraft fee eh? Interesting, in the glorious state of Kalifornia, Bof A charges a $35 dollar overdraft fee. And for my very first overdraft. It was refunded after I disputed the charge from AFLAC on a policy that was canceled the month before, but still. I did not know the banks charged different fees in different states.
