a slim inline muffler or glass pack has been around for awhile. As for size, non turbos cant handle the huge straight pipe exhaust. mine is three with muffler. I have a large muffler on and it is silent, then engine makes way more noise. That solves my debate about cutting the muffler off and going straight pipe. i dont want it sounding like a gasses with a bad muffler problem hahahaha!
get one of the thin round ones that is real slim, not the big typical oval ones. The slim ones take the edge off and give the growl and none of the chattery crap that glass packs give. That is why people would mix oil and gas in a 50 50 mix then dump it in the glasspack, let it soak forawhile then light it on fire to "burn it out". Makes them sound better i guess. Oh well.
What he was meaning is to protect what ever is in the bed.
I have seen a couple lunch boxes, a water cooler and a few tool boxes ruined when they slid against the stacks or cross over pipes.
Also saw a couple bales of straw smoldering after they slid up against the cross over pipe.
They get rather hot while running down the road.
Pull a big hill with a load, don't even think about touching them for a while, 7 or 8 hundred degrees will fry skin instantly.
My Y was built at the shop. They cut out the original Y and used a large pipe to fit over the two original pipes, then transitioned to a 3" making the Y about 10" long. The transition is more or less a solid V shape.
