Coil and sluggish
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 18-Dec-02 AT 08:55 PM (EST)]Ok had a sluggish 2000 expedition last week. Engine light comes on. Tested and said #4 coil bad. Replaced coil and now I still have the sluggish drive. Like the truck is missing. This happens at all speeds and worse when it is cold. If I have a coil go bad should I also change plugs, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 2000 Expedition 4.6l has 70,500 miles on it.

Is the MIL still on? The #4 coil going out is a common problem. Have you tested for additional codes? Have you tried pulling the power/battery cable for a few minutes to reset everything?

Coil and sluggish
I am still new to this stuff. My check engine light went off when the coil was replaced. If I remove the battery cable will I lose all my alarm stuff, keys to start, etc because I only have one key for this car and do not want to lose the ability to start it

Hmm. Your alarm I have no idea about. But I have pulled the battery numerous times and never had to reprogram the Ford chipped key. It sounds like you had someone else do the repair? I would definitely bring it back and tell them you are still having the prob.
