What do you guys think? Replaced both batteries about 3 months ago. I have a volt gauge and always showed about 13.5 volts after the glow plugs shut off. Today I took a 70 mile trip and noticed half way into the trip that my battery light was glowing and flashing. At idle it stays lit, under acceleration and highway speeds with no load it goes out. Am I right in thinking it's the alternator. I'm going to pull it out tomorrow and hopefully NAPA or one of the auto stores can check it for me. Am I missing anything else I can check. Any help will be appreciated.
Power wires for relays to run driving and backup lights.
I have them mounted high and pointing at each rear corner.
Lights up the area that I can see in the rear view mirror real nice.
I wasn't sure if they were related to the large red wire going from the alt to the batt or not. What did you do with the factory big wire on the alt?
I left it in place.
The extra wire is simply installed on top of the factory connector.
Use the heaviest copper connector you can find. Thick enough to make it impossible to bend using your bare hands.
Make it too thin and the engine vibration will worry the part in half after a short period of time.
Then you have a loose positive wire that is fed by two batteries and a 4 gauge wire.
The really heavy ones are the only ones strong enough to withstand the vibration.
Hey thanks everyone. I got it out and when I turn it by hand I hear and feel, not see, I slight bump, bump, bump to it. I don't know if that's normal or not. Check all connections and the batteries have a full charge....at least for now I'll get'er checked and go from there. Just wanted to check if there was something not so obvious to check
Hey Dan that's a good idea to help with the load when you got a bunch of electronics/electrical loads. By the way how you been??

Been good, thanks for asking.
I buy my electrical supplies from Interstate Battery. They have an outlet in Everett and they sell to the general public.
I sent a customer up there with an E450 that needed battery cables and they fixed him up.
I found the lugs that I like to use, but could not find the cable.
I buy welding cable to make my stuff because it is nice and flexible.
