Stopped by the dealer and the Tech wasn't available and the SA didn't know what code was thrown. Now I'm concerned that they're chasing their tail on this and relying on the Ford Hotline for direction.
I've got to stop by on Monday AM and demand to meet the Tech and hear what he has to say.
Thanks for all of the ideas and opinions guys. I really do appreciate that!
Russ, who did you take it to? It's too bad that our helpful diesel tech Bud isn't at Tuttle-click any more. I thought that you had the STC fitting done when our trucks were in 1.5 years ago? Did you have the inductive heat flash done recently? Those are definitely eating up the FICM's recently and could cause your problems along with a laundry list of other things. Good luck!
I don't know what flash it has now but I can hear a definite buzzing sound from underneath the hood, along with the fuel pump and vacuum pump, when I turn the key to 'on'.
Based on the problems it was having I changed both fuel filters 2 weeks ago hoping that would cure it. I told the SA that so they'll just put those back in the new unit. Of course, I didn't ask if this would be covered by the 5yr/100K engine warranty....
They are covering the rental vehicle so it's not all bad. If you see a white Nissan Sentra smokin' the tires, gettin' sideways and blastin' country music it's NOT me!

hahaha that was you in that Sentra???????????
lol , thats cool that you dont have to do much to it.... and i hope they wont turn up your bill for unnecesery parts....
The 5 yr / 100k warranty coverage (per the manual, page 7) includes the following:
Engine and these components:
cylinder block
heads and all internal parts
intake and exhaust manifolds
timing gear
harmonic balancer
valve covers
oil pan and pump
water pump fuel system (excluding fuel line and fuel tank)
high pressure lines
gaskets and seals
glow plugs
turbocharger
PCM
electronic driver unit
injectors
injection pressure sensor
high pressure oil regulator
exhaust backpressure regulator and sensor
camshaft position sensor
accelerator switch
Nice info Bismic. I guess it pays to read the manual because that is a lot more than I would've imagined being covered by the "motor" warranty. Good to know!
