i've heard that i should not install aftermarket gp's such as autolites, is this true? do i have to use motorcraft?

I have heard the same thing on several different diesel forums, and even ran across one guy who had the problem they all describe. The tip of the GP broke off and fell into the motor. Not worth the risk in my opinion.
motorcraft beru plugs, each time, every time. Like it is always said, the price of the plugs is way cheaper compared to re doing most of the engine. Just the price of the glow plugs is only two hours of shop labor. math alone should solve the dilemma.
makes sense. i'll be doin it myself, so that will save $ right there.

Thanks, Tom! I really appreciate it. I've been laid off from work since Feb. and things are a little tight sometimes. Gotta keep the truck running, though.

no problemo!!
i hate seeing people overpay for glow-plugs, especially garbage plugs, when that site still has them for $9.99 each.
i just wish someone showed it to me before i paid $24 each for the plugs for my 88 6 years ago.
