does anyone make a stereo replacement that is the same size as 2002 stock? I don't like the 1 din models. i would like to get a new stereo with ext input jack for my ipod. The FM modulators SUCK!
Do the newer trucks come with AUX jack? if so will the newer stereo fit?
It looks like you can fit E, S and U style head units. If you click on the "E,S,U" on the following link it will tell you what each one is. All of them will fit your 2" opening:
yeah, I checked there site out. the prob with my stock head unit vs aftermarket is the ford is they say 1.5 din and the aftermarket stereo is either single din or double din size. I did find a adapter that plugs in to the back and is supposed to connect to my cd changer plug then convert that to a AUX plug. I will do some more reading on that adapter.... anyone try that?
thats a good source for the 06, but my 02 is a lot different. I found a company that make a AUX adaptor that just plugs into the back of my stock head unit in the CD changer port. so far that seams to be the best route. I was hoping someone has tried that?
I ran a AUX adapter for a few years before I got a AVIC-D3 nav. It worked well.
Do you recall the manufacturer/model? Maybe if you find it you can let me know? I only ask because our trucks are the same vintrage and I, too, hate the FM modulators. Especially, since I have to crank the volume of my radio darn near all the way up to hear my music.
