94 E-350 7.3 front caliper problem
Can place my hand on the caliper and rattle the caliper in all directions.
Will new caliper slide pin kits cure my problem or do I have to replace the wheel spindles?
I got "new" spindles from a breaker of a 94 van, but they have different caliper mountings, I suspect that the previous owner of that van changed his brakes to a 95-96 model. These spindles came complete with bearings, disc's, ball joints and ABS sensors but without calipers

Does my 94 wheel spindles have an O-ring inside the caliper slide bores?
What about drilling the slide bores all the way trough, to get rid of moisture and to be able to punch out the glide pins next time they get stuck? anybody done that.

It's cheaper to get the complete caliper with the pins included, new rubber boots, and pick up some new anti-rattle springs.
The '94 E350 did not have a tone ring on the front for ABS. It only has ABS on the rear axle. So the spindle you have will not work, you could make it work, but unless you have a really bad spindle, I would not change it, cause now you have to buy 2-3 caliper and hope you find the right one.
If you can move the caliper all over, it should be "floating" some, and you have a lot of play in the mounting pins, then the receiver holes are worn out, and you will need to replace the spindle housing.
I would not drill out the mounting hole all the way thru, this would cause more problems down the road. I've used a drill bit (5/8" I think) to clean out the crud inside the mounting hole before, and use High temp anti-cease to keep the pins floating, This works the best, I've replace the pads several times after I got this van, and fixed all the brake problems.
Your O-ring question
Reciever holes are worn out, and thats the problem.
In the Chiltons repair manual, there's a picture of my spindles and the text says '92-'94 models.
Also in the same manual there's a picture of the one I got from the breakers, as a '95-'96 model.
So now I either need a caliper for '95-'96 or I need spindles for '92-'94

The ABS light comes on only when I activate the brake pedal briefly to disengage cruisectrl. Why is it doing that?
I've checked all the wheel sensors (3 pcs.) and wires, measured resistance, all ok.
Tried to ground the abs check connector when abs lamp is lit, but no flash?
The brake switch / curse is tied in behind the dash, if the brake lite only flashes when the curse is disabled I would not worry about that, by the time you track it down, you could have put alot of mileage on the van.
Only one problem with the ABS light though, on the yearly controll of the vehicle.
I will get a fault on the vehicle test, and get 1 month to repair the problem or they will take my lisenceplates.
The ABS light doesn't flash after disabling the cruise, it stays on untill i switch off engine.
Best I can tell you is, it's just one of them many electrical gremlins that Ford send down the line for us to deal with later
One that can connect to both "check engine" and "ABS" connectors.
All I can get here is OBDII readers, e-bay or US is the only place I can get OBDI.
So it's easier to buy one that actually works with my van.
Also where can I download/purchase a parts catalog with drawings of the parts?
