So as not to highjack the post below, I have another 5.4 question.
I came across what was to be, a good running short block 5.4 from a 2000, F-150 Lightning.
It was in the high 60,000 mile range. Owner has bought a crazy built, 5.4 long block, for more power.
Would this short block work as a starting point in my 2000 Superduty, with the 5.4. Or is the SVT engine a different breed modular engine all together?
Owner says it has a steel crank and stronger pistons? Thought I may grab onto it for future use. From what I'm reading on here about these peach 5.4's, I'll probably need it.
The compression ratio on the Lightning block is 8.4:1 and on the standard 5.4 block is 9.30:1 You will want to get a tuner to adjust for the difference along with any other mods you make.
