I am planning on having the 5.0 in my 93 F150 rebuilt after 300,000 miles. I am very concerned about avoiding Chinese engine parts which i hear are flooding the market and going into a lot of the rebuilt engines. Are Federal Mogul and TRW parts still American made? Any other brands of quality parts that are made in the USA? Or Canada?
I really don't know about suspension parts but I know where you are coming form. The steering and brake shop I go to really has problems with this kinda stuff, they get many bad drums and rotors. They showed me a few one drum they had to turn .080 and you could see by the machining marks it was still a little out of round, and one rotor had porosity in it. When I did my engine swap recently I was actually really surprised every thing I bough was made in the USA. Engine mounts, clutch kit, belts, and hoses, but I have always avoided house brands. I have always used moog suspension parts (they are owned by federal mogul) and all have been made in the USA but I don't know about nowadays. When I worked at advance auto probably 10 years ago now some TRW stuff was made in mexico that why I started using moog, lost a employee discount to do it. Don't feel bad to tell the guy behind the counter you don't want the part because its made in china, I do it all the time and they have always under stood why.

There are a lot of engine part manufacturers here in the US. You can check out the internet for the part you want. I ordered a (Advertisement Removed) via the internet few weeks ago and it seems to be durable. It is made in the US so there are no worries on my part.
