yes there is a but it depends on how much you want to invest in upgrades if it doesn't have a turbo that is the thing you will defenatly want to add, between an ATS system, Hypermax system, or banks sidewinder system, also they have exhaust systems for the 7.3. and many others but not sure how much money willing to spend.

Which of the turdo systems are the best, and what would they cost. The reason I'm asking is I can buy the truck at a reasonable price and the old truck is in good shape, I also hear a lot of good things about that motor. I am debating on buying this one and fixing it up or buying a 99-03 powerstroke or a 5.9 cummins.

Well i would definetly go with the ford 7.3 IDI but thats me.The turbo systems for the 7.3 IDI is the ATS Turbo system whih costs 2,050, or Hypermax pulse turbo system which costs $1,775.00 for both costs have all the hardware and hoses.

going the 7.3l route you wont be out a lot of cash in the beginning so you get to play around a lot in mods and fun stuff, they are cheaper to work on and easier to work on. The turbo is by far an amazing add to these beasts, almost 50% better power. definitely on my to do list when i get the rebuilt/reman. all in good time my bros, all in good time.

I think the truck has around 207,000 miles on it, how many can you get out of one? I have heard od people around my area getting 400,000 plus on the 7.3 IDI

hundreds bro, hundreds. i have seen 690,000 miles on a speedo with minimal upkeep and never a rebuild. Just very well taken care of.
