early vs late 99 spider

this past weekend i replaced my stock intercooler with a 6.0 unit
i got the boot kit from clay and later this week i plan on ordering the 99.5 plenums from him so i can use the new spider to plenum boots i got with the kit

i would like to install the new spider to the old turbo so that i can sell off my 7.3 intercooler and spider as one to an obs owner

my question is this is the 99.5 spider a different size where it mounts to the turbo ?

I'm pretty sure the up-pipes, collector, turbo, and pedestal all have to be changed along with the spider & manifolds to do a complete upgrade (not counting the injectors & HPOP).

You MUST change the turbo, up pipes, plenums, and spider all at the same time. The late spyder won't line up with the early bird turbo.

And you must also change the pedestal.

But I am pretty sure you can change the Plenums only and still keep all the early stuff.

Which is exactly why when I do this upgrade I'm going to change my up pipes, turbo, spider and IC at the same time. Prior to that I'll change my HPOP so that the HPOP might be able to keep up with the air flow when I stomp a mud hole in the floor board

How can you change the plenums only? If you change the plenums only I'd think you'd have one helluva time getting the spyder to plenum boots to fit.

Eh, can't see you not being honest, even painfully honest But yes you are right. I can't wait to be able to order my gear and replace a bunch of restrictions on my truck.

Chase,

Not cleaning up after you or keeping you honest. Just adding to the knowledge you posted.
