idling issue

idling issue

ok when im at a stop light u can feel my truck idle funny and u can see it in the tach jumping up and down ruffly 100 rpm but it doesnt do it in park only in drive with the brakes applied at a light or stop sign, can anyone give me a little help with this on plz

sounds like your icp sensor is bias, next time this occurs have someone unplug the icp sensor, if the idle smooths out then I would recommend replacing the sensor. Sometimes when they get hot they send erratic signals to the pcm that cause a rolling idle.

what is the icp senser like wat does icp stand for also what does it do, where is it located on the engine,is it easy to install a new one,and how much would they be cost wise

Injector Control Pressure, 2003,early 2004 icp sensor is located at the back of engine under turbocharger-can be accessed from underneath over trans. Later models are screwed into the right valve cover next to glowplug module. It takes a 15/16 wrench or socket to remove. Cost is around $150 if memory serves. If you are under warranty 5yr or 100,000 miles then its covered.
