will i have to get different valve covers to clear the 1.7 rockers i know i had to with my mustang..i definitely want to do the MAF conversion what do i need to look for. also where can i find a intake spacer for the intake or is it worth it...
does anyone know a website that deals with ford truck proformance
Yeah you don't need to change the valve covers.. even on the stang just remove or trim the baffles for clearance. You need to find a mass air truck and pull the engine wiring harness and computer, you need the injector and air meter wiring to add to yours. The truck intake is already too big for the motor and it hurts low rpm TQ so a spacer won't help. Swap it out for a complete HO or Explorer intake for best results.

so i will need to splice into my harness to add in these, i cant just put the air mass harness on to my motor??
also if i go to the explorer or mustang intake will i have to change my wiring harness and ill prolly have to make my own air intake right

Reason: forgot another question
You can overlay the injector and mass air meter wiring.. but you still have to take apart the EEC connector and insert the pins for these wires into the correct locations since there will not be any pins for these in your harness right now. The EEC connector comes apart fairly easily.. it's designed to come apart so this isn't as hard as it sounds. This is also the big reason you need a donor harness to start with, you want to remove the wires you need complete with the connectors on one end and the EEC pins on the other end. This will minimize the amount of splicing and soldering necessary.
Any wiring changes necessary to put the Explorer or Mustang intake on will be minor, may only have to strip some tape off the harness and pull out the TPS and EGR wires.
