So I was on the way home the other night and noticed my clutch slipping with my programmer on. It does fine in stock setting but I'm gonna go ahead and replace it. I remember reading about a Kevlar bushing to replace the pilot bearing. Anybody know where to find that? I tried thee search but I havent had much luck with it in a while. Oh yeah, gimmie some opinions on what clutch setup to get. I dont plan to go over 400rwhp, ever but I do tow heavy. Thanks folks.

Look at South Bend Clutchs and Valair. Both seem popular for these guys.
I just put a South bend Clutch in my truck. If you get the kit it comes with a kevlar pilot bushing. The "6 speed grumble" is ALOT less with this clutch and the pedal is about twice as easy to push in then stock. I LOVE THIS CLUTCH! and Highly recommend it to ANYONE!.
I can put my chip on 120 in 6th gear at 2000rpm and mat the pedal and she just goes!
I have herd on other sites that the Valair clutches dont hold the amount of hp that they are rated for. If you look at SBC you can get the one that i got wich says its good up to 350hp and 750ft/lb. So that is one step above a stock clutch. The Valair is more popular with the dodges.
Thanks Nolan. Now, I remember talking to you after you installed yours and it had reduced the grumble. I think that is what I will go with is the Con O. I dont plan on adding any major HP anytime soon so that should take care of me. I do see they have some kind of HD setup that is good for 400hp. I just wonder what its like.
The more HP it can take the stiffer the clutch will be, and the less smooth it will engage. I have the Con O and dont plan on ever seeing 350hp. Clutch feel and stiffness was very important to me when looking at clutch's. There is a lack of detailed first person info about Valair and thats why i went with SBC.
So I must be loosing my mind. I went back to the same hill that I thought the clutch slipped on and this time I pulled my boat. It went right on up the hill with no problems. No slipping at all. I even did a hard run on a couple other hills without problems. I had had a couple drinks and had a truck full of people but dang I would have swore that it was slipping. HA HA! I'm going to see how it goes for a little while before I drop the money on the clutch. By the way Clay has the best price I have run across.
