Rather than go to all of the trouble to swap dashes, why do you fabricate your own dash out of either aluminum or sheet metal. All you have to do is remove the plastic panel. You can fabricate a new piece out of flat steel or aluminum.
There is a link around here somewhere with some picutres of trucks that people did just that.
it cant be that hard. the f600+ trucks used them and the cabs are very similar. i "think" it would bolt in but need some fabrication to make it look right. just my $0.02
Its darn near a bolt in swap. Just the angle at which the steering column goes from the dash to the firewall is off. It can be done. I do have to wonder why? The gauges from 73 and up are more accurate and reliable.
some people like the oldER school looks of the bumpside dashes. I think they are cool and would like to know what is involved in doing this (although I would doubt it is hard)
I looked at the 67-72 forum after you mentioned this and they've discussed pulling a dash from the F600. Sounds like they're spot welded to the cab under the windshield and take a bit to get out. Anything is doable with the right motivation though.
I have the instrument cluster(round guages) from the F600,but I need the actual metal dash. I dont mind removing spot welds under the windshield, cuz I think this would be real cool.
The F600 was a mid 70's(76-77)

You're right, but it is virtually the same dash as a 68-72 pickup, only it has a different gauge cluster and no dashpad. That's why the the guys with those pickups were talking about the swap. They want the dash to be all metal with no dashpad and the gauge cluster is a lot more functional then theirs. Some of them have simply swapped the F600 gauge cluster right into their pickups.
