Clark 250 / 280

Does anyone know, or know where I should ask, if the Clark 250 and 280 use the same bellhousing? I beleive, the 250 was back in the mid 60's and the 280 is newer. Thanks, Elliott

To my knowledge (in most ford applications) the 260 / 265 /285 series clark transmissions will use the same bell housing. I have replaced 260 series with 280 series in ford applications. The 250 series alot older series transmission. I would be very sceptical about using any 250 or 260 series clark in anything contemporary. The parts are getting hard to find & very expensive. On the other hand, 280 series parts are readily available new "genuine" at bargin prices. You may want to check out: http://www.roadranger.com click on service our product & look for a fuller (clark) midrange distributor in your area--they may be able to help you if this does not answer your questions. Good luck, gearman
