I too was given the "uhuh know" answer at Ford about test strips. I've seen the Diesel Manor stuff but how do you reconcile their results with the ppm directions in the Ford letter/TSB? Even if you forget Ford and just work w/DM's instructions, a coolant filter is an integral part of their solution.
Found a source of strips that give results in PPM?

Bob
Im a heavy duty mechanic and work at a truck shop. We use DCA test strips and check the coolant at every service. Im pretty sure the strips we use give results in PPM. Ill get the name of the strips for you on monday if you are still interested.
There are 6 levels of readings for nitrate on my Wix test strips. First color is 0 PPM next is 200PPM then 500PPM then 800PPM then 1200PPM (which is ideal) the last is 4000PPM (flush) the first 4 readings provide you recharge/maintenance doses.
I dare say I'm not the only one that would like to find a sales source for coolant strips that read the proper levels in ppm. Particularly if the minimum purchase amount isn't so large that they weather before you can use them.
