I just replaced my Auto meter Ultra Lite Pyrometer with a new one, and the needle parks on about the 200 degree mark, not on zero when I turn the truck off.
Can anyone tell me why ? and is there a fix for it.
I gave up on trying to talk to Auto meter customer service, they NEVER call you back.

Does it seem accurate at idle? If it doesn then I think it is ok, its probably just where the mechanism comes to rest.
Mine works the same way. The way it was explained to me was the gauge reacts at an instant. When the electrics turn off the engine is winding down and thats the last reading. around 200, there's nothing else driving the gauge. If you try this, it might make more sense. When your engine is cold, turn the key to on but down start it. Read the pyro. It will drop to about 70 degrees or whatever to air temperature is at the time. Keep in mind, your reading what is inside the manifold.
Just go to their website, do a search and find the page that describes your gauge. There you'll see a tab that says "repair parts" or something like that. Click that tab and it'll change to the page where you can buy the correct sending units, bulbs, bulb covers, etc for that exact gauge.
Its hard to beat Summit's prices and delivery times!
