No, the OBD port is always receiving power even when the engine is off. That is how you are able to power up tuners before you need to put the key in the "on" position.
I doubt there is a way for it to shut off when you kill the engine. Now you might be able to get it to shut off so long after not being used or you might be able to shut it off yourself right before or after you shut the truck off, but I doubt there is a way that you can program the LiveWire to shut itself off after you kill the engine
I know my DashDAQ(similar to the LiveWire in every respect including tuning) doesn't power off when the engine is killed. You either have to totally shut it down or you just turn off the screen(still on, just not using juice for the display). Both options have to be done by "you" though, it won't do it itself.
Thank you for the info Tex25025, that's the only thing I wish they would change on this tuner, there is no "on/off" even for just the display, you have to physically unplug the phonejack type cable.
Promblem solved, messed around with the livewire again this afternoon and discovered that by pressing and holding the "escape" button in for about 5 seconds completely powers down the tuner and powers back up the same way.
No more plugging and unplugging.

Good to hear it. It did seem almighty strange that they wouldn't have had something on there to do this, but who knows.
