Holley 94 question (NOT PV)

I am looking for some advice or experience with a Holly 94 problem. The accelerator pump shaft is leaking fuel onto the intake. While the fourth of July was fun, I'd like to avoid that on the road.

I have tried replacing the shaft itself as well as the copper bushing and felt pad with no luck. Any ideas from the wise masses out there?

Your fuel level might be too high.

Do you have a definitive float setting? I have several numbers for the 2100 models - from 1-8/32 to 1-15/32 on the up side. Hanging is all over the map but shouldn't be causing an overfull condition. The clearest diagram is from a Techlit rebuild sheet for Holley carbs copyrighted 1967 that says 1-15/32. Another rebuild sheet says 1-1/4. It is currently set between the two and runs fine otherwise. I figure a quarter inch is pretty substantial on the full side.
Thanks.

Are you using an electric pump? Do you have a regulator? I'd have to check the manual for the float setting, I usually just set it so when turned upside down, the tang from the pivot to the float is horizontal.

Mechanical pump, no regulator, just the set-up it came with when new. I'm going to take it off again today and set the float to keep the level in the bowl down a little and see what that does.
