302 engine head question

302 engine head question
well hello everyone. I am building my 302 engine. My 302 is coming out of a 71 f-100 and going into my 59 f-100. I am trying to find the best heads to put on for a reasonable about of cash. 
A friend told me gt40p heads are good, cheap and the way to go, i googled that and some people said that the gt40s with out the p are the way to go. Also the modifications i might come upon to do this.
So i was wondering if anyone had been through this before or any input from anyone.
