Unfortunately, you have no chance of adapting an AOD in there...
The C-6 is available in 3, yes 3 bolt patterns.
1 - 289,300,302,351W - 335 Series Small Blocks
2 - 360,390,410,428 - FE Series Big Blocks
3 - 351M,400,429,460 - 385 Series Big Blocks
Unfortunately the AOD/E4OD are made for late model Ford engines(335/385 series), never for the older FE's. You would have to go with an over/under drive unit or goto a manual tranny.

US Gear and Gear Vendors offer over drive units that go after the trans to add additional gears. The cost is about $2500~$3000 and usually requires a new custom drive line and most use electric shifter buttons. If you want lower hiway rpm, your best bet is a gear change or taller tires, it's not a great option but it's the cheapest. If you do the gear change yourself, you could pay <$200 and save the old gears then change back later if you don't like it.
Some have adapted a 2speed 4x4 transfer case and change the gears so that they have a low range for climbing and a high range for hiway use, and you can buy a NP205 for cheap, but you'd spend some time making mounts and rigging everything up. The NP205 has a 1:1 and 2:1 so that would give you a really low range compared to stock.
