Because of the twin air intake pipe things i cant find a cold air intake for my truck. Does someone make a 2 to 1 type thing so i can make one. What can i do to make one.
but i dont want 2 different filters and all. I want a 2 to 1 so i can have a normal looking intake. I just saw in the engine bay thread a guy with what looks like a K&N kit but i just wanted to piece one together like your talking about.
You can get the intake assembly from a MAF (94 & newer) 302 and build off of that using some of the adapters noted in an earlier response. I did this for the 347 stroker in our son's 92 Bronco. After removing the MAF sensor from the air horn, I cut out the section that the MAF sensor sets down into and filled in the holes with JB Weld, smoothing it for better airfow inside and for a finished look on the outside. I would try to post some pictures but he has it with him at grad school in South Bend.
Trust me you don't want a so called CAI anyway. They are actaully hot air intakes. The best setup is the stock air box with the I6/460 lower tube. The other option is to make your own that actually gets cool air. All those open element under the hood types are not worth anything.

If possible. would running my intake tube down to under my bumper essentially be the best. whats the I6/460 lower tube. lol.
Its the tube that connects to the bottom of the air filter box. Instead of going up on top of the radiator where hot air is, it goes to the radiator support and pulls air from near the grille and driver headlight area.
What year is your truck and what motor do you have?
Here is my air box setup. I have the I6/460 tube on it. If you look under the air box and behind the radiator cap you can see a recangular shaped duct. Thats what it is.
Here is some one elses truck with a V8 that has the factory tube/snorkel. This is how it is on 5.0 and 5.8.
Mine has it right there on top of the radiator. Do you have a picture showing where its going or is there a tutorial on how to do this. It seems simple but i wouldnt know where to put everything.
Edit: i think i see where yours is going. Is there a kit to do that or do i just piece it together.
All you need to do is get the tube. Is a single piece. You don't need a kit or anything. It can be swapped out in about 60 seconds without tools. You will probalby have to get it at a salvage yard. I don't think new ones are available anymore.
It passes through the verticle openeing next to the radiator behind the edge of the grille.
