so I need the 78 shell with the round headlights? How hard is it to change the buckets to a different position?
Im not 100% confident that you can just re locate the later model buckets and have the headlight fit correctly, but if you want to keep the early grille, you should probably use the early headlight buckets.
I have several sets if you are interested.
So Ca. is not that far from you.

The round headlamp buckets used 1973/77 are not the same as used in 1978.
1978 ONLY: D4ZZ13118A .. Right & D4ZZ13119A .. Left.
These are the same as 1974/78 Mustang II, 1975/77 Pinto/Bobcat, 1975/77 Granada/Monarch, 1977/79 Thunderbird.

And...Ford did not sell the 1973/77 buckets by themselves, they were only furnished with the complete headlamp assembly.
So...there is no part number for them and used is the only way to get them.
well I found one at a junk yard, they had one for 150 in very good condition. It was a little more than I want to pay but I think it was worth it. I painted it and got it put on today. I will take some picture and put them up tomorrow. I need to update my restore thread any how.
I could probably have done tat too but I am still kind of new at this stuff and I was not sure I trusted myself to go drilling holes in things when I was not absolutely sure where to do it.
