parking light and grill mounting on a '53

need to drill the mounting holes for my parking lights and grill before paint.

looks like the parking lights just sit on the valance over the little dip and bolt down thru it... then grill sits over that... zat sound right ?? just center the grill in the hole side to side and drill the holes ???

pictures and procedure would help this crippled old man... thanks
john

That all sounds just right. Leave a bit of space (1/6" ) between the bottom of the grill and the parking light so the two pieces of metal can move a little bit independently of each other.

Doesn't the grille and valance already have holes and indentations for the parking light frames?

I may have to be corrected on this, but I believe that John's been installing a single piece fiberglass front end. I am assuming that the grill mounting holes have to be drilled.
