I read the sticky post above on engine imbalance but need further info please!
Have a 1979 351W and a C6 in our '54 Ford wagon. Engine has the original front pulley/dampner and I replaced the flexplate but cannot remember comparing the original to the new one..
Flywheel has a fairly large weight on it.
Have a shake in the motor as I start to pick up RPMs, especially at lower and mid range. Seems to dissapate at highway speeds.
Did I use the wrong flexplate??? Help
Just viewed some history threads. THis 1979 motor came from an E150 Van. It looks like it has a 50oz vibration dampner on it which
was the original one I removed. This seems contradictory to other posts. ?????
