What 4 speed to use?
Some of you might be awares of my 1974 F100 2wd project from the other forums. I am close to taking the rod-knocking 6 banger and slush-box out and replacing it with a 460 I've located close by.
I've always been a GM man (s-h-h-h-h...!!) and have enjoyed my Muncie close ratio speed trannies behind the likes of 427's and GTO's. I would like a 4 speed behind this monster of a motor also. Anybody got thoughts about the matter? I know I'll need to scavange an entire pedal assembly, bell-crank and linkage off a dead F100 in a salvage yard, but what's one-of-the-better 4 speed transmissions I can put into Harrison? (No drag racing, just a fun transmission to walk through the gears behind the 460 with L&L headers, Edlebrock manifold, Holley 750 and Cherry-Bomb mufflers?
Hoping you can help...

exACTomundo! That's exactly what I was looking for.....I just drive the truck for the fun of it...something to drive down Peachtree street on a Saturday night with the full race cam pounding under the hood and the windows rattling next to me....
the only "work" Harrison will do is maybe pick up some plywood every now and then.
I'll consider doing exactly as you suggested. We'll fix those ch*vys!!....
