egr

on my 88 f250 with a 302.the truck has idle kind of high as long as i had it. i pulled the codes and it says egr and ect . i have changed the ect,tps,and iac.i have the egr vac hose blocked off ,whe i put the vacumm hose on the egr the idle goes down but it looses a lot of power andthe exhaust fumes are horrible. does the egr have to be hooked up and if so does that mean it is bad? also can that be my high idle problem?

unblock hose, reattach egr valve. You gain nothing from removing it

What fuel pressure does it have?

Is there vacuum present at the EGR vacuum line all the time? If so that's not right, change the EGR vacuum regulator over by the coil.
