I'm having a vibration problem in my Lightning that I've narrowed down to the output shaft bushing being worn, excess play at the yoke. Unfortunately I don't have the money to get the trans rebuilt. I want to take the trans out of my 93 & put it in the 95 Lightning. I know the solenoid pack plugs are different from 93 to 95. I need to know from one of the gurus on this board is how to do this swap, wiring wise. HELP!
It's not the tailshaft bushing, it is the output shaft bushing that is in the back of the case. Transmission has to be completely disassembled to replace it & it might as well be rebuilt which I can't afford now. I just want to have my ducks in a row before I start so I don't mess anything up on either truck.
My mistake. A few months ago there was a guy posting a similar problem on the transmission page, from memory I think he ended up swaping the solenoid pacs over.
Also a few days ago there was a guy on this page had a similar problem going from `92 to`93, however I don`t think he got definitive answer.
Finally, about a year ago there was a guy on the transmission page posted the wiring colors and function for the E4OD trans. This was a guy wanting a manual torque converter lock-up.
I posted a question about solenoid packs on the transmission page awhile back. I got some excellent information.
The best route for you is to swap the solenoid packs. Take the pack from your 95 and install it in the 93 and you will be good to go.
The biggest difference I have found is the early packs (89-93/94) have resistors in the solenoid pack itself. the later (94+up) have the resistors in the PCM (computer). The common misconception I ran into is that you can repin the connector. this is incorrect. You must use the correct year solenoid for your truck.

Good info. I was thinking about doing just that to avoid a wiring problem.
