Steering stabilizer recommendations

Need to replace my factory steering stabilizer and wondered which brand is recommended. Are aftermarkets (Rancho, Skyjacker etc.) worth the extra money or are OEM good enough. My Ex is a 2004, V8, 4x4.
Thanks

i dont remember the part #. I thought the kit would be the same for all 99-04 super duty trucks.

Reason: firms up the steering and helps offroading when you bump a rock or something. dosent jerk the wheel as hard as with a stock stabilizer. Seems like there is a bit less play in the steering wheel on the blacktop too.

I installed a fabtech dual on mine after the spring/shock/tire upgrade. My stock one was completely shot so it did make a big difference, no more wheel ripped from your hand when you go over rough potholes.
I went with the one that installs with the factory mount, just drill one hole - quick and easy. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/00-05...4506.m20.l1116

mine took one hole in the top of the mounting bracket to attach the extension on. not a big deal, you set the extension in place, mark the hole and then drill.

I added the single rancho when I replaced the rest of the shocks. I do off road some and now wish that I went with the dual. The single still has some movement when you hit rocks and ruts while off roading. The single is fine for all other driving that I do and is good up to the 35" tires.
So if you want larger tires or off road get the dual kit.

Just installed the single Rancho (OE replacement). So far, I like it over the Ford unit. Seems to take some of the slop out of the steering.
