Turn signal flasher

I have a 72 F100 ranger. My father-in-law took the turn signal flasher out and now I can't find where it goes back. Can someone help me?

Maybe this will help:

In order to remove the instrument cluster, you need to disconnect these 3 things. (L to R) The turn signal flasher connection, the speedo cable, and the main harness connector

Here's a pic of the back of the instrument cluster. The flasher is circled on the right.

Here's a closer pic.

Best of luck,

John

Welcome to FTE

There are TWO flashers behind the dash, not one.

One is used for the turn signals (T/S), the other for the emergency flashers (H/D).

Both these flashers look the same, and have the same two spade connectors.

The only difference is the emergency flasher is a H/D unit, so it has a louder click.

The H/D flasher can be used in place of the T/S flasher (it was for Camper Specials, and for people hard of hearing), but the T/S flasher should not be used in place of the H/D flasher.

The T/S flasher is located as shown in the pics above.

The H/D flasher attaches to a clip that bolts behind the center of the dash cluster.

The instrument cluster does not have to be removed to get to either flasher.

Ford did some crazy things, but this wasn't one of them!
