Plastic on FX4

I need to know where to get 4 wheel well mouldings (OE style). I also need to know what the name of the plastic part that sits at bottom of windshield under wipers is called and where to get one. All my stuff is fading out and needs replaced. And has anyone tried the rail caps from Deflecta Shield that are the diamond checkplate that are black and stick on to the originals. Much appreciation for any help guys!

Have you tried ebay? You could also get the lariat style fender flares as well.

The Lariat ones are the same as the FX4 except there smooth and painted to match the truck. The panel under the wipers is called a cowl panel.

You can always just paint the original parts if they are in good shape otherwise.

are you under warranty?

if so, it's a free replacement

if not, do like I did. I pulled mine off my 06 FX4 and painted them black using a Krylon Fusion Spray Paint for plastic.
took 2 cans to get a good thick coating though. but they turned out well IMO

btw, I did mine and they were under warranty...it's a bit of a PITA. I won't make that mistake again.

no warranty left, I like the idea of painting, but when they come off are the plastic retainers still good to reuse to put them back on, what finish black did you use, do you have to take the wipers off to get the cowl off?

I destroyed those little plastic tabs removing the flares...but you can buy new ones in the "General" area of most parts stores.
to be honest though, those flares are extremely well mounted. You really don't need the retainers
I used the gloss finish. It was the only 1 I could find that was specifically for plastics and black....wasn't extremely glossy though.

Didn't do my cowl...but yeah, your wiper arms do have to come off. Maybe somebody can point you towards that though. I never messed with taking mine off

the wiper arms come off sooo easy there is a little arm that is at the the very bottom of the wiper arm, where it connects to the truck, pull it back and lift the arm off, takes like 5 seconds!
