Ok my 06 is having some problems with the turbo i think. It all started this may. Sometimes when i was accelerating it wouldn't have very much power and blow black smoke. It only happend once or twice so it didn't worry about it. not to long ago it started happening more and more so i payed more attention here's the stats on the truck at the time, oil temp 205-213 Coolant temp 198- 206 boost at 70mph 4. It wouldn't have any power until it got some revs then it would take off like a rocket so my turbo wasn't spooling i figured. I cleaned the EGR and VGT solenoid. went on a 200 mile trip and it still did it but less hardly any on the way back. Today i was driving home from town and it started acting up again but it was different this time. I didn't have much power the truck was supper quiet and i had 29psi on a pull (more than usual) and no smoke Oil temp was up to 215 coolant was 206 boost was 10 psi at 70. whats going on?
If your still under warranty, take it to dealer. Otherwise I would try cleaning the turbo. Edge is not the best tuner for the 6.0 and it's hard on the tranny.
When you cleaned the EGR valve, did you clean out the MAP sensor hose and the EBP tube?
Also - I have heard of folks cleaning the EGR valve and then still having problems - When they took the valve back off, crud that had been left in there was causing it to be stuck open. What I have always been told is that when the truck is super quiet, it is a stuck open (bad or plugged) EGR valve.
You could also have a bad EBP sensor.
As Steve mentioned - could also be the turbo vanes.
