2000 Windstar Question

Does a 2000 Windstar or any newer vehicle have any type of EGR? I'm just wondering because a friend of mine got a $1000 quote on her van to replace the EGR (thats it, no specifics). It just seems odd to me because the van does not have a lot of mileage. It's still under 50,000. I'm just wondering, did people catch on to the blinker fluid and muffler bearing scheme, or is this claim valid. Looking at the DVD ROM manual for this vehicle I can't find any indication of any type of EGR.

I'm not sure, but I would venture on saying that the Windstar has no type of EGR (unless it stands for something else maybe?). Sounds like a line of crap to me.

The windstar has an EGR valve($43.00), EGR (DPFE) pressure sensor($52.00), EGR vaccum solenoid ($36.00) All parts can be had at autozone. A $1000 is much to high.
