I have a 1994 ford f250 and i purchased the sky SRK iv got everything mocked up in the truck, except for the front hanger, i have not drilled the additional two holes. For the back shackle, the one that pivots, when the truck is just sitting there it should be on a slight angle to the back right? how do i line the axle up for sure? just line it up with the shocks to try and get the axle centered? because the holes are not drilled yet i can adjust how far forward or back the axle goes, i did just line it up with the shock,, is that ok? or am i too worried about this?
Step # 8 in your instructions provides you with the dimension to measure and the reference that you need to square your axle up. This will prevent the shackle angle from being different from side to side.
You have to measure 52 inches from the center of the rear spring bolt to the center of the new front spring bolt hole.
In step # 7 it described how to use the shim to align the front hanger.
Then you can drill the new 1/2" holes and you will be square. There is no indication of the shackle angle, because you have the weight off of the truck currently, and different front spring rates would make this a variable, and not a good indicator.
You have to use a rigid measurement, and use a constant as a reference. This is important to keeping things square.
